The 2018 Chardonnay Bentrock is scented of poached pears, baker's yeast and elderflower with bright touches of saline. The medium-bodied palate is super silky, bright and mineral-driven but hints at more savory nuance yet to come, and it finishes long and uplifted. 81 cases were made.

The 2018 Chardonnay Bentrock is gracious and ethereal in the glass, with all of the translucent finesse that is so typical of this site. White flowers, mint, white pepper and crushed rocks lend vibrancy and a real feeling of cut. This is an especially minerally, savory Chardonnay that captures the essence of the western side of the Sta. Rita Hills so eloquently.
