Note di degustazione
Wonderfully mature nose – olives, sandalwood and vanilla, like one of the those absurdly expensive scented candles. Loads of clove and blackcurrant fruit too. Powerfully savoury finish. Tangy and structural and perfumed – a great vindication of the ageability of top American reds. (RH)

A perfumed, violet, candied lavender, black cherry and currant-scented effort, the 2005 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard is full-bodied and layered on the palate, with a textured and gorgeously elegant personality. Made from 40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc,14% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot, its tannin is nicely integrated, it has ample fruit, and will continue to shine for another two decades.
(40% each merlot and cabernet franc, with 14% cabernet sauvignon and 6% petit verdot) Bright ruby-red. Fruit-driven, complex aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry and dried herbs. Juicy and gripping, with penetrating acidity framing the berry flavors. Not a fleshy style but pure, vibrant, clean and long.
