From the Fair Play region of California, which is a higher elevation region east of Sacramento, the 2015 Syrah Diamond Bar is 100% Syrah brought up in 50% new Burgundy barrels. It offers lots of kirsch and blackberry fruits intermixed with plenty of savory spice, white pepper, and dried herbs. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and balanced, it’s another impressive wine from Helen that has loads to love. It has more tannin than most of the Syrahs in the lineup and will benefit from a year or two of bottle age.

The 2015 Diamond Bar, 100% Syrah, is fabulous, as it deftly balances the richness of the year and structure. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, sage and a host of more mineral-driven notes all work beautifully here to give the wine a sense of total completeness. Medium in body, with considerable punch, the Diamond Bar has so much to offer. The Diamond Bar is all finesse.
