Good deep red. Wild aromas of musky, briary black raspberry, cola, pepper, spices and flowers. Round and deep in the mouth, with lovely sweetness and a light touch to the dark fruit and mocha flavors. Still a bit youthfully stunted but has the length and energy to reward mid-term aging.

Clean veins of saline minerality buttress a core of expressive fruit in the 2010 Bonnes-Mares. This focused, beautifully articulated wine is endowed with marvelous length and sheer energy. Sweet floral notes add lift on the close. This parcel sits on the Morey side of the vineyard. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. (Not yet released) Importer: Skurnik Wines, Syosset, NY; tel. Good bright, dark red. Reticent but highly complex aromas of small wild red berries, black cherry, crushed stone, black and white pepper, wild herbs and cocoa powder. Less sweet today than the Clos de Beze and even more backward, even austere, but already displays a superb sugar/acid balance and outstanding incipient complexity. The clenched tannins are accentuated by strong underlying minerality. Finishes with terrific verve and grip. These vines were picked at the beginning of the harvest, while the Clos de Beze came in at the end, noted Magnien.
