The 2018 Rosé Hirsch Vineyard is 100% Pinot Noir vinified as saignée. Ethereal and nuanced, the 2018 is haunting in its beauty. It's such a beguiling wine. Kirsch, dried herbs, mint and rosewater lend striking nuance to this engaging, wonderfully complex sparkling wine. Disgorged: March, 2023. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. (AG)

51% Pinot Noir, which gets some maceration time in the press, and 49% Chardonnay. Whole-cluster pressed, with each press run of approximately 122 gallons going into two neutral barrels, where they ferment with ambient yeasts. Malolactic conversion is blocked. The wines age in barrel sur lie for 6–8 months before being blended and then bottled for tirage, where they spend between 40 and 48 months on the lees. Dosage 2 g/l. Light ruby with fine bubbles. Smells of berry jam and white flowers. Flavours of berry and citrus flavours mix with a saline brightness. Voluminous mousse. Tangy kumquat and salty seawater with a hint of kelp linger in the finish. Alluring. (AY)
The 2018 Rosé Heintz Vineyard is powerful at this early stage, with a medium cherry-pink color and generous aromas of yellow peach and brioche accented by touches of lemon peel and sage. The medium-bodied palate is dry and finely creamy with surprising concentration and unapologetic ripeness—it boasts wave after wave of pastry-laced fruit that's so enjoyable, I don't want to put it down!
