Looking at the three Pinot Noirs, the 2021 Pinot Noir Estate Cuvee is a larger production release (2256 cases) that brings terrific darker berry fruits, some spice, underbrush, black tea, and crushed stone nuances, medium body, ripe, building tannins, and a great finish. A serious wine, it benefits from air and will easily evolve for 5-7 years or more. It's a smoking value in impeccably made, high-quality Pinot Noir that will beat the pants off many a Premier Cru Burgundy.
A blend of fruit from the various Pisoni vineyards: 52% Pisoni, 18% Garys’ and 30% Soberanes fermented with approximately 20% whole cluster and ambient yeasts. Spent 11 months in 40% new French oak. Smells of cherry and raspberry fruit with a hint of dried herbs. Bright and juicy cherry and raspberry flavours have an intense brightness with hints of liquorice and dried herbs. Mulling spices, citrus peel and a touch of mocha emerge on the finish. (AY)
