The 2020 Double Lucky #8 is pleasantly herbal, almost briny and smoky in the glass, blending nuances of sage with green olives and white pepper. This soothes with its soft textural fruits and juicy acidity, coming across as immediate yet still full of character. Its minerality comes forward through the finish, nearly salty in character, leaving a tart black raspberry resonance.

The dark-fruited and spicy 2020 Double Lucky #8 begins with a fresh, open-knit core of dark cherries and roasted plums. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is fresh, generous and spicy with firm gripping tannins and will remain food friendly until its 10th birthday, if not longer. The wine rested for 21 months in neutral oak. This is scheduled to be released in February of 2024. Just over 6,500 bottles produced.
