2015 Wegeler Riesling Trocken Geheimrat J

The 2015 Riesling trocken Geheimrat J comes from another hot, sometimes very dry year but with surprisingly fresh results thanks to lower harvest volumes (around 55 hectoliters per hectare on average) and a great autumn with sunny days and cool nights. These conditions produced healthy grapes, with Oechsle values between 92° and 95° and, in the end, even made beautiful noble sweet wine selections possible. Wegeler's 2015 Geheimrat J is enormously aromatic on the nose and almost reminiscent of lychee, but it also shows the pure and salty notes of the stony Geheimrat terroirs. Enormously dense and powerful in the mouth, with a firm grip and aromatic as well as salty length, the 2015 is a still young but promising Geheimrat J.
