2002 Robert Keenan Merlot Carneros

While I tend to be critical of Napa Valley Merlot, there are some noteworthy exceptions, one of which is Keenan’s Merlot. The 2002 Merlot Napa (97% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc) came in at a modest 14.3% alcohol. Fully mature, it offers sweet, juicy cranberry, cherry and black currant fruit, medium body and 5-8 years of life remaining.
