Note di degustazione
Buddleia and gentian offer alluring floral diversity in a nose that also features glazed pineapple, quince jelly and poached peach. The oily-rich palate perpetuates the aforementioned fruity characteristics, supported by prominent but by no means excessive sweetness. There is a faint suggestion of caramelization in the finish, but fortunately luscious juiciness as well. Peach pit piquancy along with stony and alkaline notes together nicely complements the wine’s formidably-concentrated richness of fruit.

The 2017 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Auslese opens coolish, elegant and gracious on the clear and bright nose with its stony/crystalline slate spiciness. The juicy fullness on the palate is underlined by a distinctive sweetness, but it's structured by mineral grip and acidity. This is a beautifully spicy and tensioned Riesling Auslese with great elegance, finesse and gentle spiciness. Less piquant and filigreed compared to the Turmberg but long and solemn. Tasted in August 2018.
What a crazy nose! Licorice, anise, lime zest and fresh herbs pour from the glass of this rapier-sharp and laser-bright Auslese that currently gives no quarter, but will surely become more graceful as it ages over the coming decades. Drink or hold.
