Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2020-2030, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2016

Entirely fermented and aged in a three-year-old fuder (Selbach), which gives a very distinguished style compared to the other Kabinett wines, the 2014 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett displays ripe and intense fruit with just a hint of new oak and corresponding spices. Round and creamy, with some oak tannins and a finely mineral acidity, this Wehlener Riesling is a completely other character compared to the ones from Zeltingen; it is more smooth, more sweet and generous, and more charming--but certainly has a piquant and salty finish. This Kabinett has been bottled with 52 grams of unfermented sugar and 7.5% alcohol. I would recommend keeping this Kabinett for five or more years.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2016-2030, David Schildknecht, Vinous, Sep 2015

Decadent lily and heliotrope mingle with intimations of ripe apple and quince in a head-turning aromatic display that presages a subtly creamy, juicy and perfumed palate performance. Luscious and expansive, this nonetheless finishes with exemplary clarity and lift. Amid the extra richness and perfume here vis-à-vis its Zeltinger counterparts, one only misses the mineral nuance of those two siblings.
