Note di degustazione
The 2018 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) appears to be one of the weaker links of the négoce range this year, revealing a rather figgy, roasted bouquet of dark fruits, baking chocolate and prunes. On the palate, it's full-bodied and seemingly a touch overripe. There is only one barrel this year.

The 2018 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has a taut, fresh and quite detailed bouquet that is more reserved than the Charmes-Chambertin. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and smooth texture, but I discern more complexity on the Charmes-Chambertin. I appreciate the touch of black pepper on the aftertaste but this leaves me wanting more.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
