Note di degustazione
The 2022 Pinot Noir Seabiscuit Zotovich Vineyard delivers the textbook graceful texture endemic to this site with beautiful fidelity. A dark-fruited nose energized by orange peels, rose petals and sea spray transitions to a sumptuous, deeply textured palate that remains silky and lifted. It concludes with an understated, savory finish that is already integrating the high-quality oak that permeates the Paul Lato lineup. This merits another year or so in bottle to further digest its élevage.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Seabiscuit Zotovich Vineyard has some classic Sta. Rita Hills salty, mineral, savory notes as well as a core of both red and black fruits, some floral, gamey, and bouquet garni nuances, medium body, a round, layered mouthfeel, and fine tannins. It's very much in the more open-knit, perfumed, supple style of the vintage and is already drinking beautifully.
The 2022 Pinot Noir Zotovich Vineyard Seabiscuit is laced with crushed red berry fruit, cedar, spice, leather, incense and tobacco. This savory, mid-weight Pinot offers quite a bit of near- and medium-term appeal. There are no stems here, but this is a decidedly earthy/savory Pinot with fruit character pushed into the background.
