The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes has a floral bouquet, very expressive and charming even at this prenatal stage, with ebullient red cherries and redcurrant fruit, hints of cold stone developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is plenty of red berry fruit here, hints of spice and a touch of graphite seeping in towards the composed finish. Very fine.

Healthy full red. Cherry and boysenberry fruit aromas are lifted by rose petal and violet, with a gamey nuance adding complexity. Silky on entry, with its cherry and raspberry flavors enlivened by pungent minerality. In a distinctly rocky yet smooth style, like a baby Griottes.

Domaine Fourrier is located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate has been run by Jean-Marie Fourrier since 1994, and has rapidly become one of the village’s most fashionable names, known for producing pure and transparent Pinot Noir.
