Punteggio 17.5/20 · Da bere 2023-2033, Jancis Robinson MW, Dec 2025

Full bottle 1,350 g. Bright golden. Reticent nose at first although on the palate, it’s much more luscious than many Coche Bourgogne Blancs! Satin-textured and savoury. Just what you want from a white burgundy. The Meursault 2017 from the Coches would cost twice as much but would it deliver twice as much pleasure? Firm and long and no hurry to drink up. This bottle is much more open than the one tasted in May 2025. (JR)

Full bottle 1,351 g. Light nose and marked, tight, savoury fruit. Sophisticated and a bone-dry finish. Decidedly steely but like a coiled spring; I think it may blossom into something richer. (JR)

2017 had very short skin-contact time, six hours, because not perfectly ripe. They don’t work with perfectly clear juice. Butterscotchy nose. Inbuilt bitterness and deep-rooted into the palate. Muscle. The structure seems to come more from smoke and bitterness, and a citric stoniness, than from acidity. Really, really grippy finish. Determined. Salty and tight but not aggressive. Gets more smoky and sweet on the nose in glass. This tastes pretty superior for a bourgogne Chardonnay. (TC)

An aromatic white Burgundy with plenty of candied citrus plus notes of fresh butter, smoked bacon and flint. For this appellation it has quite serious structure, with restrained creaminess, acidity and healthy tannins all beautifully integrated. Quite a zesty finish that pulls you back for more. Still plenty of life in this!
