Note di degustazione
Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, dark berry fruit, licorice, incense, exotic spices and loamy soil, the 2020 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with a concentrated core of fruit that's framed by a muscular chassis of rich, powdery tannins. This is potentially the domaine's most profound wine this year, as is often the case, but it will also require the most patience.

The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from their 0.30-hectare parcel close to the château. Matured in around 70% new oak, this offer vivacious red fruit mixed with loam/undergrowth, crushed stone and just a touch of pencil lead. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, taut and fresh with a bitter edge on the finish (you might think there was a bit of whole bunch here, but there is none). Very long, this might be my pick from Mugneret this year.
