The 2013 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru was the final bottle that I tasted for my ten-year on tasting, actually opened far away at a Japanese ryõkan with friends. It shows splendidly, perhaps above my own expectations formed by my last bottle five years ago. It has a typical nose from Tollot-Beaut with plenty of brambly red fruit, dark chocolate and blueberry aromas, very pure and generous. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate displays a fine balance with saturated tannins, rounded and velvety in texture, with an atypically sumptuous finish considering the growing season. Absolutely delicious and drinking perfectly now.

The 2013 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru has a lively and fresh, very perfumed bouquet, one that develops some lovely spicy scents with aeration. The palate is sensual for this particular Grand Cru with rounded, supple red fruit and loamy notes towards the finish. Not quite as complex as the best Grand Crus from this vintage but commendable all the same. Tasted at Goedhuis & Co.'s annual Burgundy tasting in London.

Bright dark red. Deep, pure aromas and flavors of black cherry, minerals, bitter chocolate and spices; less open on the nose than the Corton but more serious. At once dense and lively on the palate; a lovely savory, elegant grand cru with a fine-grained texture and a sexy balance of flesh, sweetness, and freshness Still holding dark fruits in reserve but this classy wine spreads out horizontally on the back end, finishing firm but not at all hard. Distinctly airier and less massive than the Corton, and balanced to age gracefully.

Mid crimson and not an overly ambitious nose. Fresh, vibrant start on the front palate and rather dancing fruit. Fairly dry finish at this point but this wine should give pleasure. (JR)
