Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers was one of the standouts of this blind horizontal tasting. It has a crisp and well-defined bouquet with brambly red berry fruit, a touch of undergrowth and pressed rose petals. This is one of the most elegant wines of the lineup. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, crisp acidity, just a dash of black pepper and a cohesive, very focused and appetizing finish. It just "reeks" of class and it comes strongly recommended. Tasted November 2016.

Tasted blind. Pale crimson. Vaguely vegy nose with real drive and elan. Marked freshness but not excessive tartness, though I don’t think this will ever be sweet and concentrated. Lightly drying on the end. (JR)
Medium red. Expressive aromas of redcurrant, dried flowers, iron and tobacco. A bit lower-pitched in the mouth than the Vosne examples, but offers enticing sweetness and subtle earth and saline mineral notes. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and very good building length.
Teensy bit of reduction on the nose – faintly rubbery – but beautiful fruit purity on the palate. Tender, yielding tannins and good fruit concentration. Medium body, slightly brief finish with a flavour a bit like black tea. (RH)
