Note di degustazione
The 2005 Champoux Vineyard is a deeper, richer wine and shows the hallmark of this terrific site in its gorgeous dark fruits, olive, earth, wild herbs and graphite aromatics. Big, rich and full-bodied, with an expansive mid-palate and texture, it drops off on the finish, which makes me think it's best drunk over the coming decade, but it's still a beautiful wine.

(45% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot) Good bright ruby-red. A bit roasted on the nose, with fruit in the deep background. Fat, sweet and concentrated, with fleshy, broad flavors of dried fruits and sweet butter. Plenty of oak showing today. More impressive now for its tannin/acid spine than for complexity of flavor. Finishes with substantial tannins and very good length.
