I bought a case of the Mugneret sisters' 2009 Vosne-Romanée Village en primeur as a student, and my first bottle reveals, at age 11, a wine entering early maturity. Bursting with aromas of cassis, ripe wild berries, violets and cocoa nib, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with lively acids, velvety tannins and a seamless, beautifully sensual profile. Deep and layered, this has integrated its new oak and is beginning to drink with real grace, though it has another two decades of pleasure to give.

The 2009 Vosne-Romanée is supple, gracious and inviting. Today the Vosne is quite open and sexy. Sweet red berries, flowers and mint all come together nicely in the glass. There is an attractive brightness that lends lift to the finish. The Vosne is very 2009. It isn't hugely complex, but it is absolutely delicious.
Bright medium red. Knockout nose combines sexy redcurrant, blackberry, flowers and perfumed gingery lift. Smooth, suave and lively, with mineral and floral elements lifting the seamless middle palate. Very generous, long village wine with a remarkably light touch for the vintage. This seems firmer in bottle than it was in barrel a year ago.
