2018 Grgich Hills Violetta Late Harvest

Late-harvest Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc from Grgich's American Canyon Vineyard – made since 1993, only in vintages with botrytis. Certified organic (CCOF). 75% new French oak, 25% seasoned French oak. RS 88.5 g/l. 1,900 cases (6 bottles per case). Smells like honey made from dill blossoms – fresh and green with hints of fennel. Lively acidity. This is just sweet – not overly so. A tad short on the finish. (SCJ)
