A ripe, powerful Sauternes, the 2019 Château de Rayne Vigneau offers honeyed apples, lemon curd, and orange marmalade, with even some toasted nutty and ginger nuances. It's full-bodied on the palate and has a deep, opulent, layered mouthfeel, tons of mid-palate flesh and fat, and a gorgeous finish. Drink this ripe, sexy, pedal-to-the-metal beauty over the coming two decades. Drink 2026-2046.

Tasted blind. Hint of coconut and very smooth and satiny. Luxurious. Caresses and palate and has (just) enough acidity to compensate for the very high sugar level. Stewed apricots? (JR)
The 2019 Rayne Vigneau offers up scents of tangerine peel, passionfruit, orange jam, pineapple and white flowers. There's lovely flavor complexity here. The 2019 remains a bit lithe on the mid-palate, but it is a very attractive and nicely balanced Sauternes.

The 1855 classification placed Ch. de Rayne Vigneau just behind Ch. d’Yquem – also a nearby neighbour. Its 84-hectare vineyard sits in a single block on gravel mounds, overlooking the Ciron in Sauternes, and producing impressive sweet wines.
