Note di degustazione
Bright medium red. Raspberry, crushed stone, mocha, underbrush and a whiff of porcini on the nose. Silky, sweet and very intensely flavored, with compelling inner-mouth perfume of red fruits, minerals, smoke and dried flowers. This really opens out on the back end and finishes lush, sweet and extremely long, with a lingering smoky quality. Built for a slow evolution in bottle.

Medium red. Compelling floral and white peppery lift to the aromas of bitter cherry, Oriental spices, dark chocolate, pepper and crushed rocks. Really vibrates in the mouth, with terrific energy framing the sappy raspberry and floral flavors. Finishes broad, suave and very long, with terrific palate-staining intensity but an impression of weightlessness. A wine like this could never be made outside the Cote de Nuits-or at least it hasn't been up to now.

Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
