Some charming evolution on the nose. Very relaxed, beautiful fruit and fluidity on the palate. Not yet that complex but with great, well-sculpted promise. Quite rich and satisfying and with definite grand-cru intensity. (JR)

Good medium red. Reduced, slightly decadent aromas of strawberry, spices, underbrush and game: this could only be Burgundy! Seriously silky, pliant and glyceral, with a lightly liqueur-like quality to the plush flavors of red fruits and spices. Quite sweet on entry, then more restrained on the back half. Finishes concentrated, spicy and long, with broad, suave tannins and terrific spicy persistence. A major mouthful in the context of the year.
Pale crimson. Lots of juice and life. A bit more brutal than the other top wines from this producer. Dry finish. I'd go for something a little lower down the scale. (JR)
(25% vendange entier): Saturated deep red. Aromas of black cherry, spicy underbrush and smoke. Silky, sweet and pliant; in fact, remarkably round and seamless for young Clos-Vougeot. Finishes long and ripely tannic, with excellent lift. Very well-judged extraction and use of stems here.
