Very pale ruby. Candied and developed on the nose. Sweet start. Easy but not very ambitious. Slightly drying tannins on the finish. Lots of acidity. (JR)

Moderately saturated bright medium red. Pure if imploded aromas of red fruits and flowers lifted by mint. A bit medicinal and herbal, with a slight dryness that I don't find in the other grand crus today. Has personality but displays little easy sweetness. Finishes with building tannins. A bit inscrutable today, and on the light side for Clos Vougeot. Hervet told me that Faiveley sold off one of its three parcels in bulk because it was a bit rustic.
