Punteggio 67/100 · Da bere 1977, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
Much of the Leoville-Poyferre vineyard was replanted in 1962, and while the young, infant vines may have been the reason for some of the lackluster wines produced in the late sixties and early seventies, they had nothing to do with the mediocre 1962. Light, overly acidic, with some redeeming fruit flavors, this light- to medium-weight wine should be drunk up. Anticipated maturity: Now-probably in serious decline. Last tasted, 9/77.

Leoville Poyferre
Ch. Léoville-Poyferré is a Second Growth Saint-Julien property that was once part of the same estate as Ch. Léoville Barton and Ch. Léoville Las Cases. It has the most complex and varied soils of the three and produces the most voluptuous, seductive style of wine.
