Note di degustazione
Smoky pungency of both blond and Latakia tobacco as well as piquancy of juniper and huckleberry share aromatic billing with intimations of the ripe white peach, Rainier cherry and grapefruit that go on to dominate a glossy, buoyant palate. A cooling suggestion of mint and basil lends a delightfully soothing contrast to the wine’s persistently pungent and piquant elements, leading into a finish of dynamic complexity and impressive sheer length.

Deep, very clear and stony/smoky on the coolish and aristocratic nose opens the 2014 Riesling Felsenberg GG 'Felsentürmchen'. Medium to full-bodied, very mineral and highly elegant on the palate, with ripe and well balanced fruit, and a long and salty finish, this is a great and quite flowing Felsenberg from the volcanic Felsentürmchen plot straight under the restored tower.
Quite sour and lean. The austerity of this style forbids easy enjoyment. There's plenty of substance here, but it is so tightly woven within sharp, green citrus fruit as to be impenetrable. (RH)
