Note di degustazione
The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru, 100% whole bunches, does not quite possess the same delineation as the previous vintage on the nose, the fruit is a little darker, with touches of black cherry and damson, and a hint of undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, juicy black cherry and raspberry fruit, much spicier than I remember with cola and graphite notes towards the finish. Fine, although I prefer the 2015. Tasted at the Domaine de L’Arlot tasting at La Cabotte in London.

Looks quite evolved. Bright ruby. Lots of evolution making a flattering, complex wine with lovely freshness. Light texture on the finish. Very appetising drink now but clearly this has some way to go too. Real energy here. Very Vosne! (JR)
The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru is rather muted on the nose. The fruit is a touch smudged compared to its peers and missing the same joie-de-vivre . Perhaps this is entering an awkward stage? The palate demonstrates quite a lot of extraction with grippy, chalky tannin. The finish briefly shows commendable energy but it seems to run out of puff after 10 minutes in the glass. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
