Note di degustazione
(86% carmenere and merlot, with 14% cabernet sauvignon) Deep ruby. Ripe and smoky on the nose, offering pungent cherry and dark berry scents, along with licorice and sexy oak spices. Mouthfilling cherry liqueur and dark chocolate flavors are impressively vibrant for such a concentrated wine, taking on brighter red berry qualities on the finish. This refuses to let go of the palate, leaving behind a strong echo of dark berries.

The 2004 Clos Apalta is composed of 86% Carmenere and 14 % Merlot. Purple colored, it has a splendid bouquet of pain grille, spice box, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. This is followed by a rich, layered wine with excellent grip and plenty of ripe tannins. This nicely balanced effort should reach its peak in 5-6 years and drink well through 2027.
