Note di degustazione
Bright red. Vibrant, spicy strawberry and redcurrant on the nose, with a bright kick of white pepper. Elegant and precise, with sharply etched red berry flavors braced by zesty acidity. Gains weight with air, picking up a sweet, jammy quality and finishing with excellent length.

The 2005 Pinot Noirs also showed well, with the 2005 Pinot Noir Zio Tony Ranch dark ruby with notes of pomegranate, sweet and sour cherries, a hint of spice, and a medium to full-bodied, concentrated palate. This wine (585 cases) should age nicely for up to a decade. Kudos to the Martinelli family, one of the great old winemaking families of Northern California. (They also produce exquisite apples as well.) Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
