100% Syrah. 60% destemmed. Aged in used (4 to 9 wines) barriques and demi-muids for 18 months. Cask sample. Tasted blind. A meaty, spicy and gamey nose with a wild feel to it. The palate has good freshness beneath a sweet, plump fruit core, fine and detailed tannins and a rich and textured mouthfeel. A meaty note comes through alongside fresh forest fruits on the layered and broad finish. (AC)
