(14.6% alcohol): Dark ruby-red. The nose conveys a porty black cherry ripeness along with notes of licorice, herbs and mint. Thick and glyceral on the palate, with the porty quality giving the wine a rather exotic quality. Delivers good sweetness but in a rather chunky, chocolatey, unrefined style. Still, the wine's major tannins avoid dryness. Will this big boy eventually come into better focus?

Medium ruby-red. Expressive aromas of crushed blackberry, blueberry, tobacco, earth, flowers and chocolatey oak. Juicy, sweet and pliant, with firm acidity framing the mountain berry flavors and providing verve. Not yet complex but high-toned in a positive way and quite young. Finishes with serious but sweet tannins.
