The 2022 Chardonnay Kokoro comes from a best blend selection put together by Lato that spent 19 months in oak, 50% being new. This beauty just jumps out of the glass with a gorgeous array of ripe stone fruits, buttered almonds, flower oil, toasted brioche, and a touch of creamed corn. These all carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium-bodied, has the vintage's forward, charming style, remarkable purity and precision, and a great finish. It's another riveting Chardonnay from Lato, who has certainly made the most of the more elegant, pretty style of the 2022 vintage. This should evolve nicely over the coming 7-8 years or more.

The 2022 Chardonnay Kokoro is a wine of uncommon depth and texture. Deep and resonant, with tons of persistence, the 2022 is impeccably done. Naturally, the Kokoro does not have the distinctiveness of the vineyard designates, but this year, the blend is harmonious to the core. A discreet touch of oak frames orchard fruit, citrus confit, marzipan and spice. The Kokoro is a gorgeous wine in every way.
