The 2018 Sancerre La Demoiselle Rouge is deep, pure, fresh and fine on the detailed, polished, mineral and iodine-tinged nose that comes in with cassis, blackberry and algae aromas. Full-bodied, intense and fleshy on the finessed and elegant palate, this is a perfectly matured and sustainable Pinot with a lot of appeal. It has very fine tannins and a balanced texture. This is a remarkably good and balanced red bottled with 13% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted in December 2021.
