The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Pony Express, from blocks 3 and 7, is a heady, exotic wine endowed with tremendous personality. The flavors are intense, dark and beautifully layered throughout. Lavender, leather, smoke and licorice build into the creamy, dense finish in this absolutely gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon.

As for the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Pony Express, this wine is showing better than it did last year as well (when I rated it 92-95), with notes of Christmas fruitcake, licorice, forest floor, white flowers, and oodles of crème de cassis, blackberry and blueberry fruit. It is a stunner, with an opulent, voluptuous texture, sweet tannins and low acidity. It should drink beautifully for another 20+ years.
