Note di degustazione
Served from magnum in April 2016 (the day after the frost destroyed 90% of the Zieregg buds), the 2012 Sauvignon Blanc Zieregg (Late Bottling) was kept for 36 months on the fine lees without sulfur. The wine is still very young on the nose, offering rhubarb and apple-mousse aromas along with yeasty flavors. Full-bodied and very elegant on the palate, this is a chalky, vital, tension-filled and finesse-full wine of great elegance and terroir expression. Long in the shadow of the highly praised 2011s, this will turn out to be a classic one day (in the next decade). It is moderate in alcohol, although the wine has 13.5%. "We have once again attempted to reduce the wines more on their distinctiveness, with less alcohol, more barren, more grip and chalkiness," says Armin Tement.

Bottled in July 2014, the 2012 Sauvignon Blanc Zieregg displays a deep, ripe and intense fruit (white peaches), intertwined with chalky and lemony flavors. Pure, very elegant and juicy, this full-bodied wine is very well balanced though still very young; it should age for several more years. The finish is compact and salty, very long and extremely promising.
