Note di degustazione
Aged 16-18 months in 100% new oak, the 2011 Cote Rotie Rose Pourpre is another classic effort by Gaillard. Offering up loads of kirsch, raspberry, smoked meats and spice in its medium-bodied, elegant and focused personality, it should evolve gracefully for 10-15 years. This was a large lineup by producer Pierre Gaillard. The wines all have a classic, fresh and focused feel, and certainly, those looking for big textures and loads of fruit should look elsewhere. 100% Syrah. Crimson. Some leathery intensity. Fully ripe and rather luscious. There’s a big difference between this and the regular bottling. But on the finish there is Côte Rôtie freshness. (JR)
