The 2015 Brut Nature Pinot Kirchenstück is a pure Pinot Noir grown on the loess- and loam-covered limestone of the eponymous site in Hohen-Sülzen. Base wines were made in stainless steel only and the wine spent 90 months on lees. The nose offers youthful freshness, sourdough and crunchy, tart red apple. The palate adds a touch of melted butter to these elements. Astonishingly fresh for a 2015 wine, it will benefit from more bottle age. Beautiful Pinot structure is bright, taut and firm, while bundled apple fruit bides its time. The mousse is fine and elegant on this powerful yet contained Sekt. The only thing needed is a little more bottle age. Disgorged: April 2024.

The 2015 Pinot Kirchenstück Brut Nature is a pure Pinot Noir from the top site in Hohen-Sülzen. Vinified in stainless steel and a single tonneau, the wine is deep, intense and pure as well as chalky on the nose. Full-bodied, pure and fresh on the palate, with brioche and bread aromas after 95 months on the bottle lees, this is a clear, fresh and finessed, stimulating, saline and finely grippy Pinot Noir with lightness, brightness and drive. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2024.
