2015 Raumland Chardonnay Reserve (90 months) Brut

The 2015 Chardonnay Réserve Brut opens with a deep, clear, fresh and complex nose of ripe fruits intermingled with iodine and mocha notes. Round and complex yet remarkably finessed on the palate, this is an intense, seriously structured, enormously saline and tensioned Chardonnay with a long and complex finish. This is another great sparkling wine from the Raumland family. The grapes are sourced from vines on calcareous soils in Bockenheim (Pfalz) and in Mölsheim (Rheinhessen). The base wine was aged in 25% barriques and 75% stainless steel vats. More than 14,670 bottles and 430 magnums were made. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2024.
