Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2017-2025, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2016

Tasted out of bottle, the Grenache/Syrah/Mourvèdre 2013 Languedoc Saint Drezery Tete de Belier has less Grenache in the blend due to the miserable weather in the spring that mostly effected old vine Grenache. Showing plenty of oak in its dark fruits, licorice and toasted spice aromas and flavors, this concentrated 2013 has good overall freshness, plenty of texture and a good, fruit-filled finish. Give it a year to integrate its oak and drink bottles through 2025.

Punteggio 92-95/100 · Da bere 2015-2022, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015

Leading off the reds, the 2013 Saint Drézéry Tete de Belier comes from vines located around the estate and is made from a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre, with a small amount of Carignan, that had that Grenache aged in demi-muid and everything else in new barrels. Schedule to be bottled in March, it's a full-bore, pedal to the metal effort that's almost overflowing with dark fruits, chocolate, roasted herbs and pan-dripping-like characteristics. This full-bodied, hedonistic beauty isn't for those looking for light weight aromas and flavors, and it should knock your socks off for at least 6-7 years.
