Note di degustazione
A blend of Mourvèdre and Grenache, the 2021 La Clape L'Ancely unfurls from the glass with aromas of spices, oak, dark berries, loamy soils and dry thyme. Full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it's creamy and deep with a fleshy core of fruit, an assertive tannic frame and some spicy, peppery and oaky notes in the finish. Muscular, rich and demonstrative, this well-crafted wine would benefit from more elegance and less wood influence to express its terroir fully.

From a cooler, more challenging year, the 2021 La Clape L'Ancely nevertheless brings ample ripeness and depth, offering a great nose of ripe blackberries, peppery herbs, violets, and leather. Still relatively tight and compact, it blossoms with time in the glass and is medium-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, present yet polished tannins, and terrific overall balance. Impeccably made, it’s going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and drink nicely through 2033. It's a beautiful wine from the La Clape region of the Languedoc that has real class.
