2017 Nuits St Georges La Richemone

The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges La Richemone 1er Cru put in a strange showing. It is missing a little cohesion on the slightly stemmy nose of brambly red fruit and earthy scents. The palate is medium-bodied and chewy, with supple tannins, plenty of spicy black fruit and a slightly monotone finish. It feels a little labored compared to its peers, but I feel this bottle is just at an awkward stage, so I will defer scoring it for now. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
