The 2005 Bouquet des Garrigues is a dark ruby-colored wine that tastes like the essence of Provence. Spicy, peppery, with notes of lavender, roasted herbs, and plenty of sweet kirsch liqueur notes and some even blacker fruits. The 2005 is slightly darker and fuller than the 2006. A wow wine with bright floral and raspberry notes on the nose, the 2005 Le Clos du Caillou Côtes du Rhône Le Bouquet des Garrigues is medium bodied with superb structure, great balance, a smooth texture and a long finish with fine grained tannins.
Ruby-red. Expressive red berry aromas are pure and strikingly fresh. Clean, sweet and silky, showing wonderfully precise strawberry and raspberry flavors, and finishing with supple tannins and building intensity. This is incredibly easy to drink, finishing with sexy, impeccably pure red fruits.
Very dark. Quite high toned and pushy and flamboyant. Should please lots of people but perhaps a bit flashy for perfection in my book. (JR)
