2021 Morey St Denis Les Faconnieres

The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Faconnières 1er Cru has an impressive mineral-driven nose that unfolds in the glass with scents of dark plum, oyster shell and light sous-bois . Very precise with assiduous use of oak. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fleshy and bright, though I find the acidity quite penetrating on the finish. Perhaps there is some underripe fruit here, although I appreciate its brininess and length. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
