Note di degustazione
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon - Remolinos Vineyard is raised in 30% new oak. It has a very attractive bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry, cedar and vanilla that is both floral and elegant. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, grainy tannins. There is a tightly wound coil of blackberry fruit laced with pain grille and smoke that dovetails into an elegant but weighty finish. This is very well-crafted and deserves two years in bottle. Drink 2014-2022. -Decero- means -from scratch,- which neatly sums up how this winery started out in the 1990s, when Thomas Schmidheiny turned a barren patch of land in Agrelo into one of Argentina's most respected wineries. They focus upon red grape varieties, especially Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the present winemaker is Marcos J. Fernandez. Decero produce a clutch of impressive wines, especially from the Remolinos vineyard, named after tiny whirlwinds that spring up in the vineyard prior to harvest.
