Her 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon comes 56% from her holdings on Mt. Veeder and 44% from the home vineyard on Howell Mountain. It is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot. This is another beauty, with a deep blue/purple color and notes of blueberry, blackberry, licorice, charcoal and a touch of graphite. It is full-bodied, nicely layered, with velvety tannin and 2014's signature up-front, irresistible fruit, charm and overall balance, but without compromising intensity and length. Drink it over the next 15+ years.

A superb, brilliant wine, O'Shaughnessy's 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder offers fabulous depth, intensity and pedigree. Bright red stone fruit, iron, scorched earth, tobacco and menthol open up in a beautifully layered, sumptuous wine that deftly balances rich fruit and mountain tannin.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley), here in its second vintage, is a blend of estate vineyards on Mt. Veeder and Howell Mountain. Plump and juicy, it offers an intriguing mix of forward fruit and mid-weight structure. Super-ripe red-toned fruit, mocha, new leather and sweet spice are front and center. This is a riper style than what O'Shaughnessy favors today, but the 2014 is an impeccable, overachieving wine in its peer group.
