Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2025-2037, Jeb Dunnuck, May 2023

I think the 2020 Hermitage is slightly more successful than the Côte Rôtie, and it's certainly one of my favorites in the lineup. Deep purple-hued with plenty of power and richness, it has classic aromatics, lots of darker, almost blue fruits, some distinct minerality, a good spine of acidity, and supple tannins. It's not the most massive or concentrated Hermitage in the vintage, yet it has wonderful purity and elegance. Give bottles 2-4 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 2025-2040, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2021

Full bottle 1,353 g. 80% >50-year-old Marsanne, 20% >40-year-old Roussanne from Pierrelles, Beaume, Murets and La Croix. Aged for 12 months in new and one-year-old barrels, then 12 months in Stockinger foudre. To be bottled in autumn 2022 without fining and only light filtration. Cask sample. These vines are young relative to many of those in the Tardieu-Laurent stable. This is very big wine! Quite different in scale from the rest of the whites from this address. Enormous richness. A bit of a Rhône Montrachet. So long and opulent. There is something almost burnt or burnished about this. It's almost Viognier-like in its heady scent. Already very alluring. Peachy, full and almost too fat for its own good. Not for purists! (JR)
