Le Crau parcel – this will not be bottled as such but will go into the other cuvées in several years' time. Cask sample. Tasted at the domaine. Dense raspberry all tightly wrapped in a cloak of sweet rubbery earthiness. Such tight, intensely chalky tannins – very ripe and has that beautiful density and wonderful brightness. Feels completely effortless. (AC)

This very old-school property makes the most unique Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wines are fantastically complex and Boneauu made it as it would have been produced 100 years ago in the commune, using methods that familiar to any of the 11 generations of vignerons in his family who preceded him.
