Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2024-2030, Neal Martin, Mar 2024

The 2014 Morgon Côte du Py has an expressive nose that seems mature: mainly red fruit with Asian spices, curiously almost Gevrey-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. It’s quite structured for a 2014, chalky in terms of texture with a linear, graphite-tinged finish. I would open bottles over the next three to six years. Very fine.

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2018-2023, Josh Raynolds, Aug 2016

Deep ruby. Sappy cherry and dark berries on the powerfully scented nose; hints of floral pastilles and exotic spices build in the glass. Highly energetic and appealingly sweet, offering palate-staining black raspberry and candied rose flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Takes a turn to darker fruits on the gently tannic finish, which hangs on with impressive tenacity and echoing florality.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2017-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2016

The 2014 Morgon Côte du Py was raised in concrete vats and was bottled at the end of July 2015. This has more intensity compared directly against the Morgon Grands Cras: wild strawberry, cranberry leaf and just a hint of fish oil, all well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and well judged acidity - rounded and supple in the mouth, quite elegant but not shortchanging the customer on length and complexity. This is a well crafted, refined Morgon Côte de Py.
