2012 Corbieres La Forge

The inky colored 2012 Domaine de Villemajou Corbières Boutenac La Forge is another outstanding wine from this producer. A blend of Syrah and Carignan, it has a full-bodied, concentrated, pure palate feel to go with lots of herbaceous notes, tobacco leaf, pepper and dark fruit on the nose. Inky colored, concentrated and structured, its herbal edge gives me pause, yet there’s still lots to like here and it should benefit from short term cellaring.
